MOVABLE TYPE BUSINESS BLOGS

A business-to-business, global company needed a way to build thought leadership in their industry and turned to blogs as an important way to help accomplish this objective. The communications team worked with the Majec Systems team to help execute this program.

DeltaV News BlogThe first phase involved a proof of concept where a blog server, based on the Movable Type blog software, was installed on a server inside the firewall. Majec evaluated the company's existing internal server, deployed the software, and handled the management of software administration and license management.

Emerson Process Experts BlogOver a four-year period, 29 internal blogs were launched as the program moved beyond proof of concept into full deployment. The Majec teamed also performed two major upgrades to the Movable Type blog software over this period.

 

Modeling and Control BlogOnce the case was made in the company for external, outside-the-firewall blogs, the Majec team helped specify a server, perform the installation, fully test the installation, and perform ongoing software maintenance over the 5-year life of three blogs on the Movable Type platform.

Both of the internal and external blogs ran on a Windows Server 2003 platform with MySQL and Perl added to support the Movable Type software.
