MARKETING RESEARCH SURVEY CONTACT COLLECTION AND MANAGEMENT APPLICATION

Marketing Research is a key component of any marketing program to help bring unmet customer needs to the surface and resolve as yet unknown issues. One business-to-business organization had their services program manager use the services of Harris Interactive to conduct an ongoing series of surveys.

To facilitate an improved workflow, the B2B company worked with the Majec Systems team to develop a web-based application. This application included a password-protected website for the company's project managers to submit customer contact information for the survey process by a certain date each month. After each monthly deadline, the database of information was sent to Harris Interactive.

The company's global project managers entered project details through a web page into a Microsoft SQL Server database. The project number was the unique ID. Over the course of the project, which could take numerous months, the project manager would submit contact information for 3-5 people associated with the project immediately following the completion of a phase. Typically there would be four phases to a project. However, some projects would not have phase one (post-front end engineering design) and some smaller, quickly executed projects would only have contacts after phase four (post-Project).

Majec Systems created a exporting tool to deliver comma delimited (.csv) files to a Harris Interactive contact. An administration website was created for the company's program manager to keep project managers' contact information for the global survey process current.

The company realized many benefits including a signficiant time-savings and the reduction in human errors once the standardized electronic format was sent directly to Harris Interactive.
