JAVA SMARTCARD DEMO

A multinational SmartCard developer partnered with the Majec Systems team to create a fully functioning web-based demo of their Java applet SmartCard capabilities. The demo illustrated the multi-applet capabilities of the SmartCard. This demo was developed as a Java applet and incorporated DES external authentication and RSA secure encryption techniques.

The application for this SmartCard was to enable phone sets to allow remote recharge of account balances and credit balances. The finished java applet was distributed to global phone company for distribution in the Caribbean region.

Specifically, the web demo showed a wallet applet that could be incremented from a source such as a savings account online. The demo also illustrated methods to adjust account balances and purchase items on-line with the card "wallet" balance being deducted for the client based card after purchase. Also, the design and implementation included a marketplace where the card holder could purchase items online using the card with the purchase price being deducted from the balance stored on the card.

Based on the work performed in designing, developing, and proving out this demonstration, the Majec Systems team was recommended to a large telecommunications provider client as a resource for Java programmers.
